We are pleased to announce the release of a new collection of Dumbass songs.

The History of Idiocy... The Best of 2002-2008, is a collection of some of the greatest moments of the last 6 years of Dumbass' decade-plus career.

The History of Idiocy brings you twenty nine tracks of the best of Dumbass on two discs. Spanning the last six years of Dumbass' fourteen year career, this collection presents the listener with Dumbass at their strange and beautiful best. From live performances, experiments with space and time, computer programming to pounding on rocks, and sitting at a piano, The History of Idiocy runs the gamut of recording techniques and musical styles.

This collection brings together some of the best songs from the years 2002-2008, easily the band's most fertile and boundary pushing period. The songs contained in this collection travel across the spectrum from noise experiments to hard, loud industrial music, to melodic love songs. These are not only the best songs of this period, but in many cases, the best songs of Dumbass' entire career.

Modernity DVD

We are very pleased to announce the release of the Modernity film on DVD.
The DVD will be available September 5th from Trash Records.

About the Modernity Film:

"Directed by Zeke Mason, the Modernity film is a visual counterpart to the album experience.

Paying close attention to the principles of silent film, the Modernity movie weaves several narratives together, drawing on archival and original footage, using the album as a soundtrack that dictates the pace and flow of the action. Drawing on the same theoretical sources as the Modernity album itself, the Modernity film adds depth and colour to the picture painted, as well as views from other vantage points."

The Reasons Why

To coincide with the re-release of Summer / Winter / Two Weekswe are pleased to announce that there is now a video for the song "The Reasons Why."
The video is intentionally simple, consisting of a synthetic exploration of a single painting by Swiss Expressionist Hermann Scherer. The simplicity of the video's approach mirrors the minimalism of the song itself setting just the right mood.

Announcing the return of one of the best Dumbass albums.
The Execution of Certain Actions is now available online in 192 Kbps MP3 format, a much more hifi version than the 160 Kbps version that was previously available.
As with other Dumbass online releases it is entirely free for you to enjoy and spread around. This is one of our more "experimental" albums. Not as accessible as the material on the Dumbass Sampler, for instance, but one of our own personal favorites. Recorded in scrap yards, railway tunnels, atop a 40 foot metal tower, and back in the studio, this album plays time and space themselves.
